Add accurate battery-temperature monitoring to your Victron BMV-702 or BMV-712 Smart battery monitor with this dedicated Victron temperature sensor.
The sensor mounts directly to the battery’s positive terminal using its integrated M10 cable lug, allowing the BMV monitor to display battery temperature alongside voltage, current and state-of-charge information. Temperature data can also be stored in the monitor’s history, helping you understand how environmental and operating conditions affect your battery system.
Monitoring temperature is particularly valuable in campervans, motorhomes, boats and off-grid installations, where batteries may experience significant seasonal or load-related temperature changes. When configured with a compatible BMV monitor, temperature alarms and relay actions can be used to warn of unsuitable operating conditions or control connected equipment.
The sensor connects directly to the BMV shunt’s +B1 and +B2 terminals and replaces the two fused positive cables originally supplied with the battery monitor.

The BMV auxiliary input can monitor either battery temperature, a second battery’s voltage or battery-bank midpoint—it cannot perform these functions simultaneously. This sensor is different from the temperature sensors supplied with some Victron inverter/chargers and battery chargers. Installation details are available in the official Victron BMV-702 manual
