Victron MultiPlus 12/500 Campervan Electrical Kit – Fogstar Lithium Battery Options

Build your campervan’s electrical system with a package combining Victron inverter and charging equipment, a Fogstar lithium leisure battery and essential installation components.

The MultiPlus 12/500 Campervan Electrical Kit provides solar charging, charging while driving and mains hook-up, alongside inverter power for smaller 230V appliances. Choose your battery capacity, solar panel arrangement and DC-to-DC charger, with a Victron BMV-712 Smart battery monitor included as standard.

Victron MultiPlus 12/500 inverter/charger

At the heart of the kit is the Victron MultiPlus 12/500, combining a pure sine wave inverter, mains battery charger and automatic transfer switch in one compact unit.

When away from hook-up, it converts energy from your leisure battery into 230V electricity for suitable smaller appliances. When connected to a suitable mains supply, its integrated 20A charger replenishes your battery.

The inverter is rated at 500VA, providing up to 430W of continuous output at 25°C. This makes it suited to lighter mains-powered equipment, such as laptop chargers, camera chargers and a small television, provided their combined running and starting requirements remain within its capacity.

Choose your Fogstar lithium battery

Select the battery that best suits your energy requirements:

• Fogstar Drift Eco 100Ah — a compact-capacity option for lighter electrical use and trips with regular opportunities to recharge.

• Fogstar Drift Gen 2 230Ah — greater energy storage for longer stays and increased daily use.

Both options provide lithium battery storage for your campervan. Available running time depends on your appliances, usage and charging conditions. Choosing the larger battery increases stored energy; the MultiPlus inverter’s output capacity remains the same.

Choose your solar panel package

Choose the layout that best fits your available roof space:

• 1 × 235W solar panel with a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/20.

• 2 × 190W solar panels with a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30, providing 380W of combined solar capacity.

Your selected panel package includes the corresponding SmartSolar controller. Built-in Bluetooth allows you to view charging information and access settings through the VictronConnect app.

A ZBENY solar isolator switch is also included, providing an isolation point for the solar supply.

Choose your DC-to-DC charger

Recharge your leisure battery while driving with your choice of:

• Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A non-isolated DC-to-DC charger — up to 30A charging output.

• Victron Orion XS 50A DC-to-DC charger — up to 50A charging output for vehicles and installations that can support the higher demand.

Actual charging output depends on the vehicle’s alternator capacity, installation, settings and operating conditions. Charging settings must suit your selected battery.

Victron BMV-712 Smart included as standard

Every configuration includes the Victron BMV-712 Smart battery monitor, providing a dedicated display for viewing battery voltage, current and state of charge.

Built-in Bluetooth also lets you access battery information through VictronConnect, helping you understand your energy consumption and plan when to recharge.

Electrical distribution, isolation and protection

The kit includes the main components needed to organise DC connections and provide circuit protection and isolation:

• Victron Smart BatteryProtect 100A for controlled disconnection of suitable DC loads.

• Busbars for the main DC connections.

• MIDI fuse holders and fuses.

• MEGA fuse holders and fuses.

• Blue Sea 6006 battery isolation switch.

• MRBF fuse holder and fuse.

Mains hook-up and consumer units

A shore power inlet and hook-up cable are included for connecting to a suitable external mains supply.

The kit also includes AC input and AC output consumer units, providing distribution and protection for the incoming shore supply and outgoing AC circuits.

Cables, lugs and heat shrink included

Alongside the main equipment, the kit includes all cables, cable lugs and heat shrink required to connect the supplied kit components, helping you prepare for installation with the connection materials supplied together.

Wiring schematic included

A wiring schematic matched to your selected configuration is included, giving your installer a clear reference for connecting the supplied equipment.
