Victron Orion-Tr 12/24-5 Isolated DC-DC Converter

The Victron Orion-Tr 12/24-5 is a compact, galvanically isolated DC-DC converter that transforms a 12V DC supply into a stable 24V DC output. It is ideal for powering 24V equipment from a 12V electrical system in campervans, motorhomes, boats, commercial vehicles and off-grid installations.

Providing 5A continuous output and up to 120W of power, the Orion-Tr delivers a reliable supply for control equipment, communications devices, lighting and other compatible 24V loads. Its adjustable 18–30V output allows the voltage to be matched to the requirements of the connected equipment.

Galvanic isolation separates the input, output and casing, helping prevent unwanted current paths and reducing the risk of interference between the two electrical circuits. This makes the converter particularly useful in sensitive marine, automotive and specialist electrical installations.

The remote on/off connection allows the converter to be controlled using a low-power switch or a suitable engine-run signal, removing the need for a high-current switch in the main input cable. Multiple converters can also be connected in parallel when additional output current is required.

Built-in short-circuit and high-temperature protection provide dependable operation, while screw terminals make installation straightforward. The unit achieves an IP43 rating when installed vertically with its terminals facing downwards.

Important: This Orion-Tr is a DC-DC power converter, not a multi-stage battery-to-battery charger. Victron recommends an Orion-Tr Smart charger when controlled charging of a secondary battery is required.
