Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50

Power demanding off-grid, backup and energy-storage installations with the Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50. Combining a powerful pure sine-wave inverter, intelligent battery charger and automatic AC transfer switch, it provides dependable 230V power from a 48V battery system.

The inverter delivers 5,000VA or 4,000W continuously at 25°C, with up to 9,000W of peak power for appliances and equipment with high start-up demands. When shore, grid or generator power is available, the built-in adaptive charger can supply up to 70A to the battery bank.

Victron’s PowerControl feature limits battery charging to avoid overloading a restricted AC supply. When demand temporarily exceeds the available input, PowerAssist adds power from the battery and inverter to support the connected loads. Once demand falls, spare AC capacity is used to recharge the battery.

If the incoming AC supply fails, the MultiPlus-II transfers essential loads to inverter power in less than 20 milliseconds. A second AC output can be used for equipment that should only operate while mains or generator power is present, helping protect the battery from unnecessary discharge.

The MultiPlus-II works with solar charge controllers and grid-connected PV inverters as part of a Victron Energy Storage System. VE.Bus connectivity also supports compatible parallel and three-phase configurations, system controls and integration with a Victron GX device for remote monitoring through the VRM portal.

Technical specifications

The MultiPlus-II does not include built-in Bluetooth or internet connectivity. Bluetooth requires a compatible VE.Bus Smart Dongle, while VRM monitoring requires a Victron GX device and network connection. The battery-temperature sensor is not included with this 48V model.
